In this context, MetaCen Therapeutics (CEO Myoung-Gyu Park) and the AGEs Society announced increasing interest in their patented product, AGEs Probiotics V3. The product features the Lactococcus lactis KF140 (L.L. KF140) strain, which has been proven to reduce AGEs. This innovative probiotic, developed in collaboration with the Korea Food Research Institute, is the world's first probiotic specifically designed to break down AGEs.
The core component, Lactococcus lactis KF140 (KF140), is registered under patent number 10-1841021. The findings of its efficacy were published in the SCI-indexed journal Frontiers in Nutrition in June 2022.
The AGEs Society stated, "This study demonstrated that KF140, derived from the Korean traditional fermented food kimchi, significantly reduced CML (Carboxy Methyllysine), a major form of AGEs found abundantly in foods like cheese. KF140 was shown to both decompose CML and prevent its absorption in the human body." They also highlighted the strain's ability to reduce markers of inflammation and liver health, showing meaningful decreases in ALT, AST, LDL cholesterol, and HbA1c levels.
The society added, "Moving forward, the AGEs Society and MetaCen Therapeutics will continue to research and develop a wide range of products to mitigate AGEs-related health risks, providing innovative solutions for improved health."
AGEs Probiotics V3 is available for purchase at pharmacies nationwide affiliated with the "AGEs Society."
